French: Au parc d’attractions

 Year 6 started a new topic: At the theme park. They looked at 3 different theme parks in France,and revised multiples of 10 to 100. They were also introduced to theme  park vocabulary and learnt the names of different rides. They also learnt how to ask for ticket prices. 

This last week they started planning the rides they’d include in their own theme Parks and how to say  the minimum age and height for rides

 This week, the children completed their assessment question, How are natural disasters caused and what effect do they have? I was really proud of every year 6 child as they were able to recall the facts and share their knowledge.  During the second part of the lesson, the children were introduced to 6 grid references. They did a great job in their first lesson.

Week ending 20th September

As the week draws to a close, year 6 have been concluding their unit on place value by studying negative numbers and rounding. We spoke about how we encounter negative numbers in every day life (temperature, finances etc). This week's mathematical word of the week was integer; please ask your children what it means and for them to give some examples.
