Geography assessment

 This week the children’s lesson was split into two sections. Firstly, they completed their overarching question - what is it like in South America? 

Then, they played around with six grid references.

Mapping London

 As the children will be visiting London tomorrow for their residential, they looked at maps of London. They drew a map, highlighting the human features they will be visiting. Then, they used the scale of the map to calculate the distance between certain places.  Have a great time away.

RE Festival Workshop- Hajjj

  Today we looked at the Hajj, the Islamic pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia, which every adult Muslim must make at least once in his or her lifetime. The hajj is the fifth of the fundamental Muslim practices and institutions known as the Five Pillars of Islam. At Mecca, the pilgrims are obliged to perform several rituals, including walking seven times around the Kaʿbah shrine. About two million persons perform the hajj each year. We used a net to make our very own Ka'bah's out of paper.
