RE Festival- Lailat-Ul-Bara'ah
Today we looked at the Muslim festival of Lailat-Ul-Bara'ah. This February festival is known as the night of forgiveness as it is thought to be the one night of the year Allah comes closer to earth to judge his people for the year ahead. Many Muslims will seek forgiveness for any sins they may have and will often spend the night is often spent in prayer, asking for forgiveness and Allah's guidance.
We thought about times in our own life where we may have made a mistake or done something that we regret and then we considered how we could make amends for this. Our activity involved making a paper origami dove- a dove is considered to be a sign of peace and forgiveness in many different religions.
