RE day - Resurrection

On Friday, children had their RE day all about Resurrection. We learnt about Christianity beliefs Jesus’ resurrection. We then looked at the link made to rituals and routines both in Christianity and our own lives. 

The children look at rituals they might of experienced in their own lives or experienced and then discussed as a class the importance of these different rituals. 

By the end of the lesson it was the clear that the children had truly grasped the difference between rituals and routines.

As the week draws to a close, year 6 have been concluding their unit on place value by studying negative numbers and rounding. We spoke about how we encounter negative numbers in every day life (temperature, finances etc). This week's mathematical word of the week was integer; please ask your children what it means and for them to give some examples.

Assessment

 This week, the children completed their assessment question, How are natural disasters caused and what effect do they have? I was really proud of every year 6 child as they were able to recall the facts and share their knowledge.  During the second part of the lesson, the children were introduced to 6 grid references. They did a great job in their first lesson.
