What is the physical geography of South America?

Using their knowledge of the Equator, Arctic Circle and Antarctic Circle, the children identified the different biomes and physical geography found in South America.

There Amazon Rainforest which is the largest tropical rainforest in the world is located in many of the countries but mostly Brazil. Here the Amazon river runs mostly through the rainforest and is approximately 4000 miles long. The Atacama Desert is found on the western side alongside the mountain range: The Andes.

With support from their atlases, teaching and biome learning mats the children identified the different biomes. After this, they were given pictures of different biomes and they described where these could be found.
