Extreme Earth - I can identify the significance of the lines of latitude and longitude on climate.

 Welcome back year 6 to your first Geography lesson. 

This week the children were  introduced to their new journey. 

Then, they recapped their knowledge of the lines of latitude by labelling them on a map. From there they completed a ‘sticky knowledge’ question from the previous years learning and played where in  the world? - recapping counties, flags, human and physical icons.

Children then used their knowledge of climate zones to locate different countries and the climate zone they can be found in. Finally, they looked at a climate graph and discussed the temperature and precipitation for the climate zone as well as discussing other data.
